Lilly and Mark
Talk about an international affair – Lilly from France, Mark from Gauteng, their guests from, literally, across the globe – all jetting into the Garden Route aboard a specially chartered Boeing, with personalised headrests, to celebrate one of those brilliantly lavish weddings which Knysna hosts with regularity. And this one stretched over an astounding three days…
Festivities kicked off on Friday as the ensemble boarded the Paddle Cruiser for an evening on the Knysna Lagoon. Gifts of delicate Chinese parasols awaited the ladies, Panama hats for the men; platter upon platter of fashionable canapés was passed, Dom Perignon, Moët and Laurent Perrier flowed, a jazz trio entertained.
Then on Saturday afternoon it was time for pre-drinks at the exclusive Pezula Private Castle, followed by the ceremony on Noetzie beach which we had glamorously dressed up with stylish gazebo, aisle and all the necessary accoutrements – Lilly stunning in a fitted, soft-taupe satin creation from the Pronovia collection, Mark slick in a black designer suit out of Paris. Vows were said, and it was official.
The Pezula Clubhouse we had fittingly styled in a colour palette of silver and taupe for that night’s 6-star, black tie dinner, taken to the buoyant sounds of the accomplished swing band brought in for the occasion. Dinner came to an end, the DJ took over, and the party notched up a decibel or three.
And a gourmet brunch a la Robinson Crusoe on Noetzie beach on Sunday afternoon closed the chapter on these finest of wedding celebrations!
When it was all over Lilly had this to say, “Thank you, Marius, for making a French girl’s dream come true! You managed to read into our minds and reproduce at 100% our perfect celebration. You were always one step ahead of everybody else and you made us to feel so special – it was a real pleasure to plan our wedding with you!”
