Janine and Morne

Janine fondly recalls the moment when Morné proposed to her. "I got chauffer driven in a white Hummer to Lanzerac Hotel, where he was waiting for me in a tux. He lead me to a magnificent garden, where beneath a tree was a table awaiting us. He got down on both knees and proposed! It was so romantic and I couldn't help myself burst into tears... that was one of the most magical moments in my life!"

Their wedding was equally magical, set at Webersburg Estate in the Stellenbosch winelands. Janine will never forget walking down the aisle in the estate's historic cellar and experiencing all the different emotions that accompanied the moment. "My dad was walking beside me and my future husband was standing just meters away! I was so nervous, but as soon as I saw his face I knew that I would never forget that perfect moment as long as I live!"

A snazzy decor scheme of denim and diamonds created a chic atmosphere for pre-dinner drinks; after the ceremony guests enjoyed creative cocktails from four individual bars with names such as the Gem Bar and Diamond Bar.
Irresistible canapés included smoked springbok and sweet melon "lollipops," as well as lentil and chickpea bobotie spring rolls served with a date and fig chutney. The reception was predominantly monochrome set off by sparkly details to glam things up, including crystal candelabras, gold damask and napkins that were screen printed in silver to showcase the menu, and wrapped with silver sequins. One of Aleit's favourite elements was the clear marquee that was specially constructed on the Estate's lush lawns to host the reception. Aleit has loved incorporating these striking structures into events for years and they never cease to dazzle; the marquee was brilliantly illuminated by candles and soft lighting. After a sumptuous dinner, guests were treated to a dazzling fire spinning performance, a taste of the excitement yet to come...

The after party was held at Webersburg's venue, where a sophisticated club vibe created the setting for one heck of a party! A night of dancing, laughter and celebrations ensued, with the newlyweds opening the dance floor to the sounds of Michael Bublé's Wonderful Tonight. To top things off, guests enjoyed a variety of midnight snacks, such as cheeses, nuts, grapes and a gooey cheese fondue. The cake was even more phenomenal, consisting of a white chocolate tower (only Lindt was used, of course) with the three bottom tiers of dark chocolate mousse cakes and a top tier of vanilla white chocolate and mascarpone cake.

The couple knew that they would need a professional to realise their dream wedding. "From the first meeting with Aleit, we knew that we couldn't be in better hands! I can't even explain how perfect everything was, from organising the best service providers to all the attention to detail! And not to mention the outstanding, friendly service and advice from Aleit and his team! Everything was perfect and we are so grateful to them for making our special day even that more special! They really did outdo themselves and we thank them for giving us the most amazing memories!"

The wedding was perfected by an incredible honeymoon that started in Dubai, the ideal spot to do a bit of shopping and visit glamorous restaurants and bars. Says Janine, "we were on such a buzz, couldn't stop talking about the wedding! After having a ball there we flew to the Maldives. Our chalet was over the water and we had our very own private pool, leading down to that perfect turquoise water. We danced, we drank, we ate and we did all those other things that I'm not mentioning... all in all, it was PERFECT!"

Janine and Morné advise other couples to choose a professional wedding coordinator and to have a calm and relaxed attitude. "Everything will turn out perfect, or better. Enjoy every moment because it's over so quickly. At one moment on your wedding day, stop and take everything in and remember that specific moment forever."
