About the Proposal
On Easter Sunday I was sent on an Easter Hunt - after a couple of chocolate eggs the final gift was my engagement ring.
How far in advance did you choose to have your wedding after the proposal? And, why?
About 8 months after the proposal, needed the time to arrange everything as well as give family from overseas time to book their flights and travel arrangements in order to share our special day with us.
How did you go about the wedding planning process? Did you do it yourself? How long was the planning process? How did you find it?
Did it myself, took us about 6 months to arrange everything. Was great to be able to organise our own wedding. Wouldn't have want it any different. The planning is part of the wedding!
Did you have a hen party / kitchen tea / stag night / bachelor / bachelorette party? If so, what did you do and what did you enjoy most about it?
Yes we both had a bachelor and bachelorette party. I was taken to Star Dust where we had a fabulous evening with great food and nice entertainment.
My husband had a big braai party with lots of drinking games with his boys.
Tips and / or advice for future bridal couples?
If you arrange your wedding yourself - work together instead of fighting about little things. Organising things together make you grow closer.
What was the most memorable part of your wedding day?
Photo session on the beach , ceremony at the lapa in nature.
Did you go on honeymoon? If so, where? And, why there?
Not yet, keeping it for a later stage once we have saved enough money and can spoil ourselves. Would love to go to Uganda to do the Gorilla trekking or go to Thailand.
