My fiance took me to the 4 main waterfalls in our area, knowing that I loved to be active and outside. He did it under the pretense of us having some alone time, since we shared a flat at that point. We went to Bridal Veil, Horseshoe Falls, etc. He was snapping pictures all the way. Then when we got to the base of the Lone Creek waterfall, a man asked my fiance to take a picture of him and his family. After taking the picture, my fiance returned the camera and then said, he’ll ask the man to take a couple photo of us, since we don’t have many of those. So he trotted after the man and explained his plan out of hearing distance from me.
I only saw the man nod eagerly and they returned, the man with our camera in his hand. We posed on a rock on the edge of the water and he took the pic (I don’t like cameras by the way) and just as I was about to step off the rock, he said that the photo had blurred. So I turned my back on my fiance (still Boyfriend then) to get a good spot and when I turned back, he stood on his knee with the ring and asked loudly over the roar of the waterfall if I’d marry him. At my teary (cliche, I know) response, we heard a cheer from the men standing on the cliff above us and only then realized that the man taking the pictures had also taken pictures on his own camera. For the rest of the hike and going back to the car, we were showered with congratulations. It was completely unexpected to me, and when we got home, I found out that he had told my family and his, and they were eager to tease me about it.
