My boyfriend proposed to me on Christmas Morning (2009). My family usually have the tradition to wait until Christmas morning to give everybody presents. I never received one from my boyfriend. But then came a small box which looked like if it contained a chain – how wrong was I? Inside the box there was a small letter saying that if I loved him, I would dance with him, as he didn’t have the money to buy me what I want (an engagement ring). We danced on Vaughan Gardiner’s song “Gooi jou arms om my”. And then he got onto his knee and asked me to marry him, taking the ring out of his pocket. That is definitely my most memorable Christmas.
