We went to Victoria Falls for a week holiday, this was a dream destination for me and I was incredibly excited about the trip. On planning all the activities we wanted to fit into our holiday, my boyfriend said that the only thing he really wanted us to do was a tandem bridge swing. I am scared of heights and this was not the first time he tried to get me to do a jump, so with a fair amount of convincing I agreed. It took me two days to mentally prepare myself for the “Big Jump”. So 4 days into our holiday I stood on the ledge strapped to all the safety measures and the man of my dreams.
I was not sure if I could do this. They started counting us down, I took a deep breath, wait I was not… aahhhhhaaa! A jump? A push? A drag? All of the above? All I know is that I did not stop screaming until we stopped bouncing. My next breath was when William said “now that I have your undivided attention, will you Marry Me?” I opened my eyes and there it was. The most beautiful ring, (tied to fish cut to his belt, just in case i dropped it) Dangling on a rope after doing a 60m fall, we got engaged. The “BIG LEAP” of the day was his. And best of all we have it on DVD. We then had a boma dinner where we were serenaded and enjoyed a drumming show and even joined in. The evening ended with a visit to the sangoma, What an amazing engagement!
