If anyone could say that there proposal was anything like mine, we could truly have a laugh over a glass of wine. I woke up on Easter day last year, something was different. I could see that my boyfriend was acting up. He had planned a whole day of driving and picnics. I instantly new what this meant and asumed that this was it, this was the day that would change everything. After about 6 or 7 hours worth of driving up the coast and country side. I started to think he was chickening out and was never going to ask me. The scene was perfect, the weather was great. After another hour or so he desided that it was time to go home. I went with the flow, he didn’t feel like cooking so we ended up getting take out.
For some reason he wanted to play board games and eat. Not normal in my books (more flashing lights in my head went off, I was starting to get worried) by the time we had played an hour or so of manopoly (me winning of course) he decided that he wanted to challenge me to a game of boxing on the wii fitness pro. Once again it went on for ages. So i decided to go have a bath and get into bed, I had really come to terms with the fact that he just wasn’t going to ask. So I got into bed around 11 and started going to sleep. Everytime I closed my eyes he told me to “wake up, you have to stay awake, you just can’t go to sleep now”. Now I must be straight, after a long day driving, not eating the most romantic dinner, playing board games like 10 year olds, running around a room trying to box each other out on a tv screen, all I wanted was to close my eyes.
As I was just about to fall into sleep, he tapped me on the shoulder, sat up in bed and told me what was wrong. He went on to say that things between us have come to the point that they just can’t go on. Our time of dating is at it’s end, as im hearing this my heart is just sinking further and further down my chest. Is this really the reason that we did everything the whole day together? One last bag for the end. The next second he pulls out a ring and says, “I don’t think we can date anymore, but if you would I think that we could make a great husband and wife”. That’s where my face fell off. I looked at him said “your joking with me, right?” I told him of course I would marry him as long as he lets me go to sleep. So I turned over and went to sleep. I woke up and realized that I had fallen asleep in the middle of my wedding proposal, great way to start a wedding off.
