On the 18th of September 2010 I turned 21 and to celebrate, I had a costume party in which my now fiance, Kyle, came dressed as a fire man. As the weeks passed by  I began to get the feeling he was going to propose to me. So my family and his told me a sob story that he couldn’t afford to buy my engagement ring. On the day of my party he handed me a gift bag and said it was his gift to me and he wanted me to wear it that evening. My heart lurched and I began opening the gift only to find a necklace. As the evening went on we began the speeches, and after the presentation of the key from my parents and my speech he was asked by my uncle to come and say a few words (at this time he was almost drenched in sweat and looked like he was about to pass out).

He began by mentioning that we are together for three years and all of a sudden he cut off in mid sentence and asked me to help him take off his jacket, because he “was getting too hot”. As soon as the jacket was off, he dropped to the ground. It took me a few seconds to realise wat was happening as I had thought he fainted or something and with his back faced to me, he wore a white t-shirt that read “WILL U MARRY ME”. He turned to ask me more traditionally. On his chest was a “YES” and “NO” that I had to sign… Obviously I said yes! Who could resist a man who proposes in front of all my friends and family?!
