JC Dance Studio takes pleasure in being part of your special day, as our qualified teachers tailor an elegant and romantic dance sequence to your specifications. We design the dance to your needs and music tastes, not the other way around. So whatever your song, we will make it a dancing memory you’ll never forget.
About the teachers
JC Dance Studios was foundered in 2010 by a husband & wife team, John & Charis Mc keever. “I was bitten by the Ballroom bug about 12 years ago. I’ve always loved dancing, but there was just something so romantic and intimate about dancing with a partner. I know my opening wedding dance, I will never forget because my Husband “The Jock” swore he would never set a foot on the dance floor, and there he was doing a choreographed wedding dance. Since then, we have both kindled a love for Ballroom & Latin.’ - Charis Mc Keever
We have about 18 years experience between us in Latin & Ballroom teaching and we saw a need arise for a dedicated “wedding dance facility” with focus on the couple looking comfortable dancing. A wedding dance does not need to technically perfect, but to look natural and to be enjoyed by the couple.
2012 Packages:
- Ad hoc Wedding lessons: R350 per hour
- Bronze Package: 4 hours lessons @ R1200 (R300 per hour)
- Silver Package: 8 hours lessons @ R2240 (R280 per hour)
- Gold Package: 12 hours lessons @ R3120 (R260 per hour)
- Venue Run Throughs: Available on Request

A few months before the big day it dawned on us that we would need to do an opening dance on the big day. Needless to say, the very thought sent shivers down both our spines as neither of us were gifted with the flare to dance. Andre and I were fortunate to come across Chaz’s dance studio and attended our first couples dance lesson with much trepidation. Chaz understood the anxiety we felt, nervous about the big day and nervous about dancing together for the first time. We walked out of our first lesson with so much enthusiasm, excited about the steps we had learnt and ready to learn more. Chaz put together a beautifully elegant Rumba dance routine for us. Nothing was rehearsed. She broke the dance up into the basics and then added steps that we could bring in or take out as we saw fit. Her teaching method really brings out the best in a couple in a short span of time. We enjoyed the lessons so much that we ended up learning the Boogie as well – what fun!!
Chaz, you really made our first dance as a married couple magical and stress-free – thank you! You are an exceptional dancer and an exceptional teacher.

‘Elan and I were getting married and we were desperate to find a dance that suited the music we had chosen. The first time we met Chaz, she took the time to choose a dance that suited not only the music but us as a couple.
After 8 lessons we could do more than one dance thanks to Chaz. This was a major feat, as Elan had a fear of dancing and was adamant that he could never learn to dance.
Chaz was always patient, enthusiastic and bubbly! And importantly NEVER made us feel guilty when we did not get round to practicing the steps we had learnt for that week.
Our wedding day was beautiful and the only "mishap" with our dance was that a small child wanted to run between us which caused much laughter.
Thank you Chaz for not only teaching us our wedding dance which will be remembered for a life time but for giving us a dance that we can both use for years to come at other special functions!’

Dear Chaz
I would like to thank you for your help and support during our stressful preparation time. As you know it was an extremely difficult task trying to firstly convince Kenneth that we desperately needed help and secondly, providing him with the confidence to dance in front of a large crowd. No words can express the lack of rhythm between us. You were extremely patient and made us feel very comfortable. I am proud to say that our wedding dance moved everyone to tears and we looked like pro's.
