Nestled at the foot of a mountain in the heart of the nature reserve and built on the banks of a river, Umtamvuna is the lodge of leisure. With its sub tropical gardens, abundant bird life and its close proximity to the sound of water it has an unhurried tranquility.Emphasis is on rest and relaxation… yet the more energetic person can get involved in the large number of sporting activities on offer in the area, such as wakeboarding, boating, surfing, diving, fishing, mountain biking, nature hikes, golf, deep sea fishing, whale watching and gorge swings!

Accommodation at the lodge consists of eight cozy en-suite double rooms, 4 standard and 4 luxury rooms. All rooms open up onto a private wooden balcony with a relaxing view of the river. The rooms are equipped with selected DSTV channels, air-conditioners, heaters and fans as well as tea & coffee facilities. Additionally, our luxury rooms have a sofas, bar fridges and our king sized beds are covered in the best cotton percale linen.

Breakfast is included and set dinners are available throughout your stay, from our restaurant, by prior arrangement. We have a large dinning area outside on the deck which is absolutely stunning.
