“Cool Swing” plays toe-tapping happy swing music aimed at functions such as wedding receptions, anniversary and birthday lunches. We often get called back to play at repeat functions by the same client. On one occasion we played at the wedding receptions of all three daughters in a family which I think indicates how much people enjoy our cool swing music!

Our group can be solo, duo, trio or quartet depending on the function. The solo configuration is most popular due to its low cost and excellent sound. In the solo configuration I play Alto sax, Tenor sax or Clarinet with professional “backing tracks” comprising piano, drums and double bass. The result is a top class four-piece band which provides background music to delight your guests.

We know that people love to chat with old friends at wedding receptions so we keep the music level quietly in the background... never intrusive. Usually when the dancing starts we retire and leave that to the disco people!

Our sound equipment is top class with all backing tracks on CDs played by British and American professionals. The sound or public address equipment is of course available for speeches and announcements as required. This equipment  hire is included in the fee.

My musical experience goes back to when I spent 3 years in London and learned to improvise on jazz standards. This is fundamental to good jazz music and was practiced by giants like Benny Goodman, Stan Getz, Nat Cole, Scott Hamilton, Lionel Hampton, Teddy Wilson, George Shearing, Oscar Peterson and so on.
