My husband and I got married on the 20th of November 2010 and hired Gavin Smith as our photographer. I can honestly say that I am so glad that he was recommended by friends of ours. Both Gavin and his wife are incredibly helpful and creative and they made the day really memorable with fantastic photos.

Gavin stayed with me from 7 o' clock in the morning and only left after the last photo at 6 o' clock in the evening which is almost unheard of among photographers. We received our wedding photos on 2 discs just 2 weeks later and the photo book should follow shortly. Incredible value and quality for money.

My husband and I were incredibly impressed with the level of dedication and creativity that Gavin showed toward making our photo book really fantastic and had amazing ideas for photos that we would never have considered but that look fantastic!

Many of our guests marveled at how Gavin never seemed to miss an opportunity for a good shot.

We can not recommend Gavin highly enough!

Taking wedding photo's is very stressful! We have heard so many rumours from others that their photographer was not up to standard. With Gavin, however, it is a different story. He spent so much time with us! Clicking and clicking and clicking away on his camera. He gave us ideas and did all that we asked him to do.

Gavin wasn't just a photographer at our wedding, he was a Master at work living out his passion to capture a moment in time that lasts forever. The professionalsim and effort was remarkable. He made us feel so comfortable by making jokes, yet he remained focused. And the end result: A masterpiece...

A collection of wonderfull, loving memories, ready for the world to see. No one can come close to his vast knowledge and hands-on approach to photography. He took photo's that defined our wedding and not just recorded it." The proof is in the pudding", my Grandpa used to say. Reliving our wedding day through the eyes and lens of Gavin Smith was our "Pudding".

BAIE OM TE LEES MAAR DIE MOEITE WERD!

Gavin Smith was ons fotograaf met ons troue die 10e April 2010.  Sjoe ons kon nie ‘n beter keuse gemaak het  as Gavin en  Erna   sy vrou nie.  Hulle werk is uitstekend!!!! Onverbeterlik!!! “A BIG WOW!!!”.  Hulle het ‘n gawe met hul werk en absoluut die persoonlikhede daarvoor.  Hul is liewe mense, vriendelik, grapperig, spontaan en laat jou so op jou gemak voel.  Alle senuweeagtigheid verdwyn met hulle aan jou sy.

Ons het ons foto’s en dvd baie vinnig gekry, waar ons by vele ander  bruidspare gehoor het hoe lank hulle moes wag. Die foto’s is so pragtig en natuurlik dat mens deur na die foto’s te kyk behoorlik weer jou troudag beleef.  Ons kyk nou nog en kan nie genoeg daarvan kry nie.  Ons kon ook nie anders as om te besluit die foto’s moet in ‘n boek op die koffietafel wees nie, want almal moet dit sien.

Hul het ook ons dvd gemaak, en ons het nie woorde om hul goeie werk te beskryf nie, diens en werk is baie professioneel.  Dit is ongelooflik pragtig.  Hul doen regtig baie moeite om soveel as moontlik van jou troudag vir jou op te neem.  Die musiek en als is Fantasties!!!  Dit pas in by ons tema wat ons vir ons troue gehad het.  Die klank self is ongelooflik suiwer en duidelik.  Daar is regtig niks niks niks wat ons sou wou anders gehad het nie. Ons het die dvd ook al ‘n paar keer saam ons vriende gekyk, en dit verveel ons nie omdat ons dit oor en oor kyk nie…..Dit wil gedoen wees!!!

Van groot tot klein was vasgevang en en vervoering .  Elke nou en dan hoor jy net “ Genade die mense weet wat hulle doen.” “ Dis die beste wat ons al ooit gesien het.”  Dit was jul troue maar ons sal dit ook oor en oor kan kyk dit is pragtig!!

Dit is vir ons die grootste plesier om ons foto’s en dvd vir ander te wys.  Dis ‘n trots om sulke goeie werk vir ander te wys.

We got married on the 17th of April, Gavin was our videotographer.

On the wedding day he made us both aware that he will be our shadow for the next couple of hours and that we should act like normal, as if he wasn’t there. This made us feel more comfortable. Throughout the wedding he was hardly noticeable. He was very sweet kind and professional.

We got our wedding DVD 6weeks later. He created the DVD in a way that it tells a story. The music he choose was perfect and appropriate. When watching the DVD it was like we were re-living the best day of our lives again it seemed so real. The whole DVD was professionally done, and everyone has loved it!

We were extremely happy with what we got. Gavin did and immaculate job with our DVD. We can now treasure our special day thanks to Gavin.

Peter and Teko

When Peter and I started to plan our wedding, we noted the one thing that we wouldn’t comprise on when it came to quality, come what may. It was the Videography/Photography.

This was because we knew that the Videography/Photography would be the most important aspect of our wedding, even afterwards, since even long after the wedding day, the only memory that would be left would be on the video and the photos.

We searched on the internet for photographers and instinctively felt connected to Gavin. We sent him an email, and soon thereafter started talking on the phone. Gavin has a way with people, he made us feel as if we had known each other for a long time. We had a consultation with Gavin 3 weeks before our big day, and we took him through everything that would happen at the wedding and he was diligently taking notes of everything we wanted to be captured.

On our big day, Gavin was more than the Photographer, he was more like a friend, part of our lives, he made us become comfortable with his great sense of humour which ultimately made our photos beautiful since we were smiling and laughing all the way.

We were just puzzled when the MC was thanking everyone and bidding them farewell, and we looked at each other and said, “Is this it??” . We didn’t want the day to come to an end since it really was beautiful.

When the photos and  DVD came back, we just couldn’t believe what a wonderful day it had indeed been. We were surprised to see how many other guests were captured as well, since we didn’t remember Gavin taking the camera away from us, and yet he did somehow manage to capture everything and everyone.

It was like starring in our own fairytale movie. The music that Gavin used, the scene arrangements, those priceless moments, it was all there and it was magical!!

Even these days, we often watch our wedding DVD and cannot help but fall in love with each other all over again. We even promised each other that we would have our 10 year anniversary celebration and ask Gavin to capture our precious moments again. It was really a job well done, 10 out of 10!

Gavin I have said this to you before and I will repeat it again, “You are a legend!"
