What is a Candy Buffet?

Candy buffets are co-ordinated “sweetie tables” that are cute, fun and will delight your guests as they choose their sugary treats. They serve the function of a “favour” or guest “thank you”. Sweets come in a variety of colours, textures and sizes, so your candy buffet really can suit any colour combination or theme, making it flexible.

How does a Candy Buffet fit into to the function?

To make the most out of your candy buffet, we use glass jars of different sizes, so that the colours and sugary coatings are clearly visible. This is also reminiscent of the old sweet shops, where huge containers of irresistible proportions lined the counter next to the cash register. We arrange them, so that guests can explore the visual feast before making their selection. We serve up colours, textures and sizes to add to the excitement. Presenting the sweets in this way (as opposed to on a flat platter or in a bowl) makes them more visually accessible and attractive.

We use the same colours/ theme as your wedding, corporate logo’s or decor. The selection of candies and sweets available is so extensive that there are bound to be combinations available to match your event. Each candy buffet is calculated carefullly, to provide your guests with an adequate treat. We also have a wide selection of various jars that will we will use to best suit your event.

We place scoops next to each sweet container so that guests don’t have to dive in with their bare hands.  We also, have a selection of bags and packets, for the guests to put their treats into, which doubles up as your guest “thank you gift bag”. We will print your personal message onto the candy packets, or have your logo or design printed for you on stickers and put these onto the bags.

Each jar’s contents are labelled with the sweets names on the front of the container, to inform the guest, should  they be diet specific, especially if certain sweets contain nuts or eggs (such as nougat), which are possible allergens. (This label is NOT an ingredient breakdown, as we do not normally use uncommon candies in our displays). We will also take into consideration, any religious or diet specific requirements, such as kosher, halaal or diabetic, if advised.

You might decide to have a candy buffet as an added feature, of your event, or actually replace your wedding cake and / or dessert portion of your budget with it. The most important part of this charming feature is that your guests have fun with it and feel very spoilt.

Our Candy Buffet Service

We will do all the leg work for you, design the labels, source the sweets, set up and take down, and can even be present at your event to supervise and top up jars if you require this. Or if you prefer we only set up, you supervise your own event. For our Cape Town brides we prepare your buffet in Gauteng and send it down to our agent, who will set-up for you. Courier services can also be arranged for other clients.
