Overview
It comes from the tradition of ornamented cakes to celebrate certain special occasions, either with plain decorations or more sophisticated. The decoration of a cake gives it a certain character and a special touch to any cake; it is also used as a safe keep and as a souvenir that one keeps for many years. We not only make it with cake ornaments made out of paper or plastic that are bought ready to place on the cake, but also the ornaments made out of sugar that I teach to make. They last a life time, for safe keep of a special momentum.
The sugar ornaments, give a more personal touch to the cake. More over they are edible once they are sugar and thus without any danger when children are concern. My lessons have the aim to help and show how to prepare these ornaments for several occasions, from baptisms to the various types of anniversaries, weddings, Christmas or any other event. They include various types of ornaments. From the very plain for those that are beginners in this art, to the more elaborate for those more advanced.
