We found this incredibly fun wedding music video from Western Cape videographers, A Moving Picture Studios and we asked them how they went about doing this.
Says Sean from A Moving Picture Studios:
“We are always looking for unique ways to have fun with our wedding video shoots. I shoot music videos for bands and so it seemed like a natural progression to add this option to a wedding video. Not every couple is into the idea. Some people are more shy and prefer the more ‘documentary” style video where we stay in the background all day. With the more outgoing and fun-loving bridal parties who choose this more cinematic coverage, we are more involved in the day and try to make it a unique, exciting and above all fun experience for them.
During our final consultation before the wedding the couple will choose the song. We research the locations where the shoot will take place and plan our choreography based on that and the lyrics of the song. Most of the video is shot during the “photo shoot” part of the day between the ceremony and reception. Sometimes we will have the song playing on an iPod dock to get people amped to do their lines, but most of the time we don’t need the music. As you can imagine, some people are not that excited about singing in front of everybody so we simply get them to speak their line. It’s amazing what you can do with clever editing!
Bottom line: this is so much more fun and interactive than other styles of highlights video and just imagine what a laugh it will be looking at this on your 50th anniversary!”
