Crunchies are delicious; plain and simple. They also make fabulous treats for your wedding guests to take home with them, and will work out to be a lot cheaper than some of the more conventional guest favours. By packaging them in gorgeous boxes or unique bags, you will finish them off perfectly.

You will need:

  • 180g margarine
  • 2 cups oats
  • 1 cup desiccated coconut
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon syrup
  • 1 teaspoon Bicarbonate of Soda

Method:

  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius
  • Heat the butter and syrup in a saucepan together until they are melted. Remove from the heat
  • Add the Bicarbonate and stir it until the mixture begins to froth
  • Add the dry ingredients
  • Spread the mixture out evenly on a greased baking tray
  • Bake for 20 to 30 minutes
