Luscious Lace { Wedding Cakes }
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again – wedding cake designers are masters in their craft. Today’s delicious post is all about stunning and striking lace wedding cakes – a must for any vintage or feminine themed wedding celebration.
Lace isn’t just lace – there are plenty of options in terms of the design, style and intricacy of the woven fabric. An excellent way to find the right design for your cake is to actually go lace shopping, and find a piece for your cake designer to recreate with frosting. In fact, if you really want to personalise your cake, instruct your designer to mimic the lace of your wedding dress.
The colour of the lace on the cake will also determine the mood and style of the cake. For instance, black lace is perfectly suited to a dramatic and possibly burlesque themed wedding, whereas a soft caramel lace is perfect for a vintage occasion. You can also decide to what degree the cake should be draped in lace – whether scalloped around the edges of the tiers, or covering an entire tier or two.
To further complement the lace design, add elements like cake pearls or fresh flowers for extra va-va-voom.
