What questions should we ask our potential wedding DJ?
Top initial questions we recommend you ask your DJ would be:
- Are we, the bridal couple, and or our guests allowed to make requests on the day / evening of the wedding?
- Are you SAMRO accredited (this may be a requirement for your wedding venue)?
- How many DJs attend the wedding - is it 1 or more?
- What equipment is included e.g. if you need microphones for speeches, you may want to check if the DJ sets that up for you.
- How many hours does your fee cover and what is the hourly rate thereafter?
- What additional services do you offer that fall outside the rate quoted?
- What do you wear to the wedding typically? This is particularly important if you have a preference on what they wear.
Are DJs permitted to drink alcohol at a wedding?
We suggest strongly that this not be permitted for obvious reasons. Make sure to speak with your wedding DJ ahead of time to avoid potential upset?
