The warm, sun-kissed shade of yellow...

By The Celebration Team 12 Oct, 2011

Yellow is such a cheerful, vibrant colour. Fields of wild flowers are often a warm, sun-kissed shade of yellow, as is the sun itself. In fact, nature is so full of this delightful hue that it makes having a yellow wedding colour scheme quite easy, since natural elements are so easily available to you.

Because of its natural abundance, yellow makes for a stunning colour for an outdoor wedding in the country. This is usually a more relaxed celebration. Still, yellow can easily be used for a formal indoor wedding too, especially when paired with its metallic counterpart, gold. In either case, try to use plenty of a neutral shade (ideally white) so that the yellow is more dramatic and is not overwhelming.

Sunflowers and daisies are obvious choices for a relaxed yellow wedding colour theme. Yellow roses are also beautiful and are more formal. In addition, use lemons, yellow apples and even bananas in your centrepieces for a gorgeous yellow ambience.

Be sure that yellow suits your complexion, even if you won’t be wearing it close to your face. You are likely to be standing amidst the yellow décor in many of your wedding photographs, and this will affect the colour and natural, healthy glow of your skin.
